The witless mob who simply transferred their F*** Trudeau hatred to Mark Carney will never understand – but Carney's speech in Davos was one of the pivotal moments in Canadian history.
The world noticed.

‘Nostalgia is not a strategy’: Mark Carney is emerging as the unflinching realist ready to tackle Trump
In a speech at Davos, written by Carney himself, the Canadian prime minister laid out his doctrine for a world of fractured international norms

Todd: Hiring Kent Hughes to rebuild Canadiens was stroke of genius
After two decades of Habs leadership marked by paranoia and hostility, the GM and Jeff Gorton form the best front-office tandem in the NHL.

It's inhumane to put on wool socks to head back to Canada when the temperature is well over 30 degrees Celsius.

The one bad part of leaving Chile, at least for us, is that flights are usually later in the evening. So you have all day to sit in the feelings of missing family before you actually leave the house to head to the airport. 😟

This has probably been self-evident for a long time, but the US is not being run by a rational actor and people need to stop rationalizing this behaviour as if there is any strategy or logic behind it
Not the sort of letter committed to paper by a well man. "Considering your Country decided not to give me the Nobel Peace Prize for having stopped 8 Wars PLUS, I no longer feel an obligation to think purely of Peace"

The way to end all this is for the EU to immediately get hyper-aggressive with sanctioning and tariffing every American they can find.

The man has worse approvals than at any point in his prior term plus it’s an election year. It’s all a bluff. Call it!

The Canadiens weren’t great but the two points sure work for them. All the crazy good offensive numbers and the not so great defensive ones this season all in this Call Of The Wilde for Global Montreal.

Also the Wilde Cards is a historical look at where Fowler stands.

Call of the Wilde: Montreal Canadiens roar back from two down late to beat the Ottawa Senators in overtime - Montreal | Globalnews.ca
A late third-period recovery set the stage for the Canadiens overtime victory against the Senators on Saturday. But true credit for the win belongs to Ottawa's weak goaltending.

#Habs got 21/28 points on my personal Chile 🇨🇱 road trip. It's sure been different watching them outside my personal (Pacific) time zone.

Normal Eastern starts finish up around midnight here. 😀

I will miss watching them outside under the grapes after the sun goes down. 🍇🌕

Habs have 5 shots at 5-vs-5 in 35 minutes. They look like a team that has no energy. Third game in 4 nights, 7th game in 11 days. Two days off before the next game is needed.

Two things can be true at once:

1) The Habs do not deserve better than this tonight

2) The Sens have been the beneficiaries of extremely poor officiating, with the refs biting on dive after dive after dive.

Careful Slaf, the way things are going you'll get 2 or more for beaking at the ref for missing obvious penalties.
January 18, 2026 at 1:56 AM
Maybe when it cools off a little more I'll finish watching the #Habs game outside.

In four drafts run by Jeff Gorton and Kent Hughes since Trevor Timmins' calamitous rein, the Habs have chosen as many as six elite players.
