Again, the Bureau has a lot of right-wingers. But ultimately, historically, the Bureau's politics is the Bureau. That is their loyalty. They don't like being humiliated, degraded, hobbled, or made to seem they are in service of anybody but the Bureau.

Someone asked if a jury will see it. Of course I can't say, but it is right this second becoming a political issue in Minnesota at least to arrest and prosecute Ross. If you fail you fail, but you have to beat that drum as hard as you can. Ross will lose his shirt in civil court regardless.

I don't make fun of them. It's the tone & manner. In combat 'we're going to lose, it's useless' will get you shot by your own Sergeant. 'It's doesn't look good, let's go over the top to save ourselves' is different.
A lot of people on here like to make fun of the "we're not gonna have elections" people - and to be clear, I'm rooting hard for the mockers to be right - but I feel like the melodramatic alarmists just keep being validated.
More from the party of federalism: "the states are merely an agent for the federal government in counting and tabulating the votes. They must do what the federal government, as represented by the president of the United States, tells them, for the good of the country, to do."
