For non-Brits: Our political/media class bet absolutely everything on it being fine to demonise and destroy the anti-racist left, who were getting too big for their boots, because the Sensible Moderates could co-opt and control the racist right. The weird thing in the whole BBB debate and vote, is how everyone works under the assumption "tax cuts are a need". Every journalist asks "will you cut Medicaid?", but just as a trade off , like "ok, everyone understands tax cuts, but why cut Medicaid?", and no one asks him "why tax cuts, at all?"

I wonder how much time will it be until Beijing, or maybe Dubai, propose to simply "migrate" Harvard, import it, in its totality? New buildings, campuses, staff accomodation, labs. The heaviest investment in Advanced Education the world had ever seen, and worth every penny.

Since this was published yesterday, NPR reports JAMA joins NEJM on the list of journals that confirms they’ve been sent threatening letters by Trump’s DOJ, ominously referencing their tax-exempt status in a bid to compel regime-friendly editorial choices.
