Scroll your phone and you’ll see a London of fear and decline.

Walk its streets and you’ll find a city where difference is a strength and communities look out for one another.

The reality will outlast the fiction.

Wages not based on ages has long been GMB's mantra.

You don't pay less rent if you're young. Your food bill isn't lower.

Today's news that an end is coming to age-bands in minimum wage laws is massive.

This government listens to workers. And acts.

This is a huge piece of legislation and I can't wait to see it implemented and making a difference to so many people's lives!
Now we know when the key parts of the Employment Rights bill will come into force.

This Government is matching words with action on trade union rights.

This is the biggest improvement in workers’ rights for a generation.

What a great start to the week at Labour Digital's Conference! I spoke on a roundtable about Tech for National Growth and really enjoyed our policy focused discussion. Looking forward to seeing the work this group does in the coming months.

Over the weekend, pathetic little tweeters used the serious security breach at RAF Brize Norton to attack an experienced officer for her gender and career.

As one of the few female ex-mil MPs, I asked the Minister to send a firm message to all female personnel that we respect & value their service👇

The Terminally Ill Adults (End of Life) Bill has now passed through all the stages necessary in the House of Commons and now goes to the House of Lords for the remaining stages.

Please see my full statement in this post, where I set out my position and thoughts on this key piece of legislation. ⬇️

Voting for the Employment Rights Bill has been one of my proudest moments so far as an MP.

Reform voted against it.
Farage posed today as a friend to working people.
That speech? A stunt.

Reform don’t fight for workers - they vote against them. Reform MPs opposed every single protection in the Employment Rights Bill:

❌ Fair pay
❌ Secure jobs
❌ Union rights

We're so lucky to have Ashgate Hospice in North East Derbyshire. I hear all the time from people whose loved ones have been cared for there and how much it's meant to them

It was great to welcome them to Parliament and we certainly had lots to discuss!
Our Chief Executive @ashgateba.bsky.social and Deputy Chief Executive @mattcorbishley.bsky.social were invited to the Houses of Parliament earlier this week to talk about the need for fair funding from the NHS for Ashgate.

Today we celebrate the amazing job that nurses across the UK do to serve our NHS and provide critical care. Thank you to all the nurses in Derbyshire and at our local hospital in Chesterfield Royal Hospital who go above and beyond for their patients.

Glad to be in Parliament today to vote to save the steelworks in Scunthorpe!

National security means having the capacity to make primary steel so great we're taking this bold step and protecting our industry.

Thought this was a fascinating film exploring what women saw in war that men do not, and how we express that through art.

Well worth a watch! 👇
"A powerful exploration of the work of female artists on the frontlines, Kinmonth’s film seeks to answer a deeper question: what do women see in war that men don’t?"

Many thanks to all those UK personnel who assisted the summit this weekend.

The ceremonial and logistical support was outstanding.

Particular thanks to Joint Aviation Command for the lift they gave President Zelenskyy to Sandringham to meet the King.

Proud to be part of this fantastic bunch of Derbyshire MPs speaking up for our constituents who are being badly let down by Conservative run Derbyshire County Council.

Ofsted found widespread and systemic failures in their SEND provision.

We desperately need Labour in charge to get it fixed!

@tobyperkinsmp.bsky.social made a powerful speech in the House today on the importance of supporting coalfield communities like the ones in North East Derbyshire and Chesterfield. Its a real shame there were no members sitting on the Tory and Reform benches for most of the debate to hear it!
I spoke today, along with lots of Labour MPs in Commons coalfields debate.

Noted that Lee Anderson was there but chose not to make a speech and only asked one question...about West Cumbria!

Ashfield's former miners deserve someone who can be bothered to speak up for them.
