Jonathan Joss' husband Tristan has released another statement saying that donations to their old home GoFundMe are not needed at this time and would ask for everyone to direct their energy towards spreading the message about how he was in fact murdered in a hate crime
While I deeply appreciate the support from everyone I wanted to let you know that I have had a couple offers regarding covering expenses for a celebration of life. I have absolutely no plans yet on that but I will try to keep everyone updated. There’s not a need to donate to the gofundme. But I want everyone to remember the joy and love Jonathan has brought and will continue to bring forever. I have my essentials covered and our family in San Antonio is taking care of me until I get back to South Carolina. Instead of donating Jonathan and I would both rather you spread the word about the consistent injustice done to him, to us, and to our dogs. We had so many beautiful plans for the future.

Of the patients I treated, the percentage of children was overwhelmingly higher than that of adults. We are talking about ages 9, 8, 11, 6... The children I saw had injuries to the neck. Injuries of just a few millimeters from shrapnel, but which had a very high entry velocity. You could see a very small hole in their neck, but when you did the CT scan you could understand that their larynx, their trachea, their spine had been destroyed. They are small fireballs. We recently had an arms exhibition in Greece. So these children could be "used" to show how... effective these bombs are, which when they explode, send out a lot of small fragments that cover a huge surface. And everything that is there is penetrated by them. These fragments literally maul the children. Of course, there are also the dead children, which we saw in the morgue... Every day, 200 to 300 injured people arrived at the hospital. Roughly speaking, you can calculate that the ratio of dead to injured is about 1 to 3.

Not to be a buzzkill, but it’s an annoyingly true fact. There are so few trans people to cis people—so we can’t be our only advocates!

We need our cis allies to be with us too, willing to fight with us beyond a social media performance.
