Spectacled Caiman (Caiman crocodilus).
A Colombian pacific classic. Always love seeing so many Caimans whenever I go to the pacific. Generally I see them while canoeing but this one was the first one I see while creek walking, very cool! #herps 🐊

A lot of people find it strange that I think my snakes are beautiful. I guess I find it strange that they don't, so in a weird way we have common grounds. I mean look at sergeant Colon's eyes, how their colours folow the shades of his scales. He's a gorgeous boy. 🐍

Possibly my new favorite lizard I've seen in the wild. Endemic to Colombia, they are mainly found near waterfalls and are fairly aquatic, they can create bubbles from the top of their head and re-breathe these bubbles to last longer underwater, crazy! #herps 🦎

Max. size ~6 cm (~2,3"). Females tend to be larger than males.
Found in Colombia, but only within an area of less than 5000 km² (1931 square miles).
Threatened by habitat destruction.
Considered Endangered by the IUCN.

Miss Penny, sprung loose for hand feeding. She can’t feed on her own because of her metabolic bone disease so she gets hand fed with a tiny Penny-sized spoon. Now posing in all her glorious splendor (pretending those little lines are ripped abs). #herps #reptiles #lizards #geckos #lizardsofbluesky
