As far as these oligarchs are concerned, all science does is tell them stuff they cannot do.

They can't keep spewing carbon.

They can't keep businesses open as usual when millions are dying.

WOW. I heard about this earlier today from people at the hearing. This is in the case of the Venezuelan couple arrested in DC for crossing the border two years after it happened.

Outrageously, the government apparently tried to claim they were Tren de Aragua members! And the judge had NONE of it.
