I watched it dubbed (was outvoted by family) and out of curiosity replayed the brief English language sections with the original soundtrack. The dubbed version had different actors (which I kinda get) speaking slightly different words (which I don’t get)!
A few years back, there was a Twitter thread by someone who (I think) was a professional subtitler or who spoke Korean fluently, who pointed out how bad the English subtitles were for Squid Games - not just changing sentences, but removing nuances vital to the show and to characters.
