since using Calbiri (easier for visually impaired people) rather than TNR costs literally nothing, this is just ableism for its own sake. these are the kind of people who resent seeing a wheelchair ramp.

there should be a pretty harsh journalistic follow-up whenever a congressman stonewalls like this. Oh, you don’t bother to learn the basic state of affairs? you can’t formulate a single critical thought? then what are your qualifications to be in congress?
Q: You outlined the dangers posed by drugs. So what explanation do you have for Trump pardoning the former president of Honduras?

SEN. ROGER MARSHALL: I don't know the details. Happy to look into it. I can't speak to it

Q: Alright. Um. Ok. Like, no thought on it?

MARSHALL: I haven't researched it

"Never spread the lie in the headline" should be a hard rule of 21st century journalism.

Research shows that repeating lies helps to spread them, and people read headlines more than they read stories.
News media has to do better with headlines that present false and unverified public health claims.

i don’t know man there are a lot of contenders for the biggest corruption scandal at this point. like tens of thousands of illegal firings or encouraging a violent capitol putsch or murdering random fishermen or demanding kickbacks from domestic companies, universities, and foreign governments.
Chris Murphy: "He wouldn't be going through all of this effort to try to stop the release of these files if he wasn't seriously implicated in those files. This is most likely the biggest corruption scandal in the history of the country. We know that b/c Trump is going to these extraordinary lengths"

O'DONNELL: Why did you pardon Changpeng Zhao?

TRUMP: Are you ready? I don't know who he is

O'DONNELL: His crypto exchange Binance helped facilitate a $2b purchase of World Liberty Financial's stablecoin. And they you pardoned him.

having 40 flavors of chip is good actually
One that occurred to me a while back that I had, and which I'd only seen one economist ever talk about, is the idea of opposing the profusion of unimportant variety in consumer products, e.g. 40 flavors of the same chip. Reasoning is it likely keeps cost higher on everyone w/out increasing pleasure.
