“You’re not wrong, you were lied to.” Thoughtful, intelligent message to US farmers. I feel like this is the sort of messaging that could help us get through to rural communities.

Someone just called me from the “Harris County Sheriff’s Office” to tell me I was in big trouble for not responding to a jury duty summons. Said if I hung up on him, he’d dispatch police right to my home.

I LOVE jury duty. There’s no way I missed a summons to perform my civic duty.

For the first time in my life, I went on a trip and read all the books I brought with me.

There I was, on the last flight home with NOTHING to read.

THEY SAID IT WOULD NEVER HAPPEN. THEY WERE WRONG.

Moral: bring more books.

All I really want, pretty much all the time, is for someone to bring me an omelette without me having to ask for it. Tomatoes, onions, spinach, a little cheese. Thanks. #food #omelette #goals

Someone finally fact-checked that 80/20% book-reading statistic... Thanks @constancegrady.bsky.social ! www.vox.com/culture/3929...

She does name unagented/unsolicited authors published, but ... likely all of those stories were submitted through connections.
