Turkey has issued arrest warrants for alleged genocide against the Israeli prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, and senior officials within his government.

Seeing İmamoğlu get jailed is odd and jarring but it isn’t unexpected.
It is an inevitable chapter of a story in which both the AKP, the CHP and the outside world have played a part.
In a fair election in 2023, he might have been President.
As it is, he might die in jail or be President anyway.
