Standing up to fascism and racism is the duty of the working class and the labour movement!
By Dashty Jamal On Saturday September 13th, a counter-demonstration was organized in London by Stand Up To Racism against the far-right Tommy Robinson demonstration, in which we participated to reject the hatred and bigotry spread by Tommy Robinson and the far-right. The far-right demonstration, which drew nearly 110,000 participants, was one of the largest far-right gatherings against refugees in Britain in recent years.

A grand ambition is needed to fix the housing crisis
Charlie Winstanley’s book Bricking It: The UK Housing Crisis and the Failure of Policy is published today, Here the author introduces some its main themes. The UKs housing crisis is perhaps the single largest failure of domestic policy in decades, and an increasing source of political malaise for any party in government. The average price of a house relative to earnings in the UK is higher than at almost any other time in the last 150 years.

Another resignation rocks Starmer
Yesterday Paul Ovenden resigned as Keir Starmer’s Director of Political Strategy after details emerged about sexually explicit messages he sent to colleagues about Diane Abbott MP in 2017. The reaction to this story exposes something rotten about the British media-political system, argues Angus Satow. The British media's response to Ovenden's resignation has been in equal parts shocking and disgraceful. It is a useful microcosm of everything wrong with political journalism in this country, from a deeply flawed framework to outright chauvinism.

How long has Keir Starmer got?
The last fortnight has seen a complete transformation of the situation in the Labour Party. If a week is a long time in politics, for Keir Starmer the period since he promised a Government reset that would bring “delivery, delivery, delivery” must seems like an eternity. True, the departure of Deputy Leader Angela Rayner will not have been much of a blow to Starmer.
