I asked the Defence minister today to examine whether the £4 million donation to Labour in 2024 by Quadrature. a hedge fund with sizeable investments in Palentir, a client of Mandelson’s company, had any influence on the award of contracts to Palentir, some without competition.

We need to remove the impunity with which officers have attacked and removed membership rights
Dave Levy explains why he running for the National Constitutional Committee. The critical issue with the Party’s disciplinary process is to restore trust in its fairness. The rules and their enforcement must offer dignity, respect and make the promises of membership rights a reality. The Party’s failure to do this is illustrated dramatically by the events of the last few days, but with Morgan McSweeney quitting from the government, let’s hope that his departure will lead to a change in approach in the application of the disciplinary process and remove the impunity with which officers have attacked and removed membership rights.

The Labour Party needs to be a signpost, not a weather vane and serve the best interests of the working people of this country.

To achieve that we need to hear the debate amongst the whole swathe of the Labour Party, not just a narrow faction.

I urged the Minister to publish any evidence behind these reforms and explain why no pilot schemes were run.

I have real concerns that changes to visa rules, family rights and settlement will damage public services by forcing migrant workers into impossible choices

The government must retain the five-year leave route, stop retrospective rule changes, and recognise public service work.

It is clear that Israel's ongoing actions in Gaza constitute a genocide.

When governments avoid the term genocide, it is not because facts on the ground are unclear.

It is because the implications are inconvenient.

We must call it what it is and do all we can to stop it.

There's no excuse for anybody to have maintained relations with a monster like Epstein.

It's not enough for people to step back from public life.

Every institution implicated must be held to account. Every individual must face justice.

We need an independent inquiry into the relationship between Jeffrey Epstein and British public figures and institutions, and whether they had involvement in or awareness of his crimes, assisted in covering up child sexual abuse, and if due diligence was done for appointments to public roles.

If Starmer resigns there must be an open and democratic leadership contest, not a coronation.

MPs must ensure members can choose from a full range of candidates.

A pluralistic, democratic Labour Party is the only antidote to the poisonous legacy of McSweeney & Mandelson.

Colombia at the crossroads
Justice for Colombia preview the upcoming elections in a country facing intense pressure from President Trump. As Colombians prepare to head to the polls for legislative elections in March and a presidential election in May, the choices they make will determine the country’s future far beyond the upcoming four-year electoral term. In 2022, voters elected the country’s first ever progressive government, under the leadership of President Gustavo Petro, who campaigned on a platform of peacebuilding, social investment and national sovereignty.
