Tonight the youngest made crepes. I made some whipped cream. It’s practice.

I decided yesterday to take tomorrow off and so glad I did - this week and the week between Xmas and new years are a complete waste of time. So few people in and nobody’s working.

Youngest is home from college, drinking my TX wine and cooking away in the kitchen. (Not for us.)

One of our (2) refrigerators is broken and I’m not sure it’ll be fixed by thanksgiving which has led me to wonder how do people with only one fridge make a turkey? They take up so much space.

"Perhaps prison would have persisted this way forever. Perhaps our granite hearts and iron wills would have never crumbled. Perhaps the prison mentality, that we be cold and heartless, would have endured.

Perhaps. But then there were kittens."
"I had not touched a cat in 15 years when an orange kitten wandered over to sit with me in the grass one day. I was left without adequate words to describe that experience. It reminded me that I am alive."

Tonight I was on FaceTime the entire uber home from the airport and my youngest is the best conversationalist I’ve ever heard. I’m not sure that’s a real word but it conveys my feeling. She’s amazing!

It’s raining (which is rare) so I’ve already considered raising the tip I’m going to give my delivery driver twice before the food is even here.

I had about an extra hour and a half which I applied to freestyle testing (based on a test plan) and it resulted in a bug and a need for a new empty state.

A game I play is taunting me into using things to win a level - I can get so close! But I’m in no rush.

Recently (in the few days) I accessed help through the Clear app and they were very helpful and solved my problem. Today I got a verification code texted to me I didn’t request. Coincidence?

we are alive together in this slice of time
I walk past a huge cedar tree on campus several times a day & the smell of it is incomparable. On hot dry days it has a toasty redolence; in the rain it smells lush & alive. Wherever my head is, It seizes my attention like a whisper: “pssssst, Jen, we are alive together in this slice of time”

I was carrying towels and I smashed my toe into a 12-pack of beer bottles (full beer bottles) and now it’s numb. Is it broken?
