Strong assertion for somebody who just caved to trump on healthcare.
Again - pathetic.

BREAKING: The Senate just passed my legislation to undo Trump’s idiotic tariffs on Canada. I challenged him and won this battle. Next stop: the House.

@kaine.senate.gov i just tried calling both your dc and richmond offices but you don’t allow voicemails. Despicable to throw Americans off thier healthcare.
And to broker a deal on a sunday evening when your constituents can’t even connect.
Beyond disappointment. This is a betrayal. Resign.

Just left voicemails for Pelosi at both her offices (dc, sf). I know is not in the senate but she has national influence and maybe she can get through to schumer.
The ACA is part of her legacy, after all.

Sounds like the squishes in the senate caucus are ready to pull the plug with no ACA changes. This is real. If you want to register your opinion you shld call yr senator in the next hour. They not only want to reopen w/nothing. They want cover from their colleagues who still want to hold out.

The @sfchronicle.com is so embarrassing.
They actually linked to a Standard story in this morning’s editorial. Because they don’t cover the news anymore! It’s just a collection of features and columns.

So it turns out... the US air travel system was incredibly, deeply dependent on federal funding to just run day-to-day all this time, to the benefit of private airline shareholders, when everyone thinks that state-run trains are leeching off the government. Weird!

Read an editorial in the SF chronicle today that says our very own technocratic mayor Daniel Lurie and Mamdani are the SAME actually. Bc they’re both “outsiders” 🤔
So i’m off to watch last night’s episode of real housewives to fucking GROUND myself after reading our paper of record. I hate it here.

To fight fascism, freeze the rent.
In an unprecedented move, Austria is regulating rents for the entire country.
All apartments that already have government regulation have seen a total rent freeze this year.
All formerly unregulated units are also getting rent stabilization to limit landlord rent hikes.

Agreed. The article states “Rent-control laws must be carefully designed to avoid the outcomes that economists have long warned about” w/out describing what all those terrible outcomes are … beyond scaring off housing “investors”. And to that, i say “bye!”
Housing is a right not an investment.

This isn't a bad article and maybe there is an inchoate hunger for a coalition of YIMBY and housing justice folks it completely leaves out the history of real estate fuckery, avoids discussing the capitalist housing tax, & fails to speak with an economist favorable to rent control. /1

I think it’s interesting that this song reached global popularity. Gen Z and millennials screaming these lyrics at the top of their lungs in concert. And we’re just moving on? The way women relate to this song says something BIG and we’re treating it like a pop moment. m.youtube.com/watch?v=jvU4...
