This, and can we return to calling the deceased or disappeared "people"? They are / were people. Lives not solely defined by whether or not they migrated.

Absolutely not surprising. I wish Merz would have watched more closely what happened to the Tories here.
So in the end, and rather unsurprisingly, the CDU did not win any voters from the far-right AfD by aligning their positions on migration and voting with them in parliament. Instead, they lost almost a million voters to the AfD

Dass das überhaupt eine Frage ist, die gestellt werden muss. Was für ein historischer Fehler der CDU/CDU. Wir haben uns an so viel entmenschlichung gewöhnt, wir sind in so vielen Aspekten so krass abgestumpft. Und trotzdem habe ich nicht glauben wollen, das die Union diesen Schritt wagt.
Die Union will die Asylpolitik verschärfen, auch mit AfD-Hilfe. Doch noch ist nicht klar, ob die Stimmen dafür ausreichen. Welche Folgen der Merz-Plan haben könnte
