In other words: there's growing evidence not only that precipitation extremes will increase (in general) due to climate change--but also that the most intense, rarest, & most dangerous rain events will increase faster than more "moderate" extremes. That's...not great!

Given unfortunate topical relevance to numerous recent events, I'm sharing an excerpt from our 2025 review paper on "hydroclimate whiplash" that summarizes the body of research pointing to preferential intensification of the *very most extreme* rain events in a warming climate.

Even *if* you accept Stephen Miller’s (textually, historically, and morally indefensible) claim that undocumented immigrants are not entitled to due process, you’d *still* need due process to ensure that the individuals at issue are, in fact, undocumented.

His argument fails even on its own terms.

Hey folks.
Mentors matter.
SO much.
If you’re lucky enough to find 1, let them kno what they mean to you.

Now.
Cuz someday you won’t be able to.
In 1 case, I missed my chance.
I hope I made it thru to someone days ago.

Mentors are unselfish, generous, & think beyond themselves.

Thank them for it

⚠️ The White House budget proposal would fully eliminate IMLS—the only federal agency for library services—in FY2026. This would gut access to information and opportunity, especially in rural areas.
We can’t let this stand.

Americans are not intimidated. May 1st, people gathered across the country at over 1000 events to protest the billionaires and defend workers.

We will not back down. See you at the next big day of action on June 14: No Kings Day

It was a long week, but today ended with two voting rights victories in Pennsylvania and Trump's executive order targeting my old law firm being permanently blocked by a federal judge in DC.

My advice: stay hopeful, stay strong, stay informed.
