If somehow you never knew about Alice Wong and her bad ass, powerful, astute, vulnerable, triumphant work as a writer and disability rights advocate, go fix that. You'll understand why so many of us are gutted by her passing.
I’m devastated by @sfdirewolf.bsky.social’s passing. Alice was an incredible advocate, writer, and human. I miss her so much already and am grateful for our time together but mostly for the legacy she left us all. Her memory is a huge blessing. www.facebook.com/share/14QATF...

One of the few good things about winter in VT is that all the doors and windows are shut so my neighbors can't hear me say things like "Ok boys, we need to have a conversation. I love you but I don't love these behaviors. I need you to make different choices for the rest of the day." to my cats.

I live close to an elementary school and I can't tell you the absolute joy "tiny kids in tiny jackets with ears on the hoods" season brings me! The parade of adorable kids going into and coming out of school is cute as hell

Am I surprised that Sam Douglass was caught saying racist, bigoted, crap in a telegram chat? Not even a little bit. Those of us in VT paying attention during the 2024 election knew who he was, but the Gov. put a shit ton of resources into getting him and other Rs into the senate. And here we are.

This is so crappy that the staff got notice today that they're being laid off tomorrow - especially considering the board has been in conversation about the financial issues for months.
The Pride Center of Vermont, a community center for LGBTQ+ Vermonters, will pause its operations indefinitely beginning Oct. 10.
