Just gonna throw this out there that no book is more prescient for the times we face. It’s not hyperbole to say that the similarities to right now are chilling. You won’t vote your way out of this with a spineless opposition party and this is going to end very badly for many, many people.

I would think this is a "war of aggression," illegal according to international law. But you're allowed to attack in self defense. All that stuff about Venezuela "attacking" the US with fishing boats can conceivably be used as an excuse.

So there’s a straight line from Roger Taney’s SC (1836-1864) to the Civil War. Can’t help feeling John Roberts’ Court is drawing a straight line to… Somewhere. Trying to imagine where that might be. Blood-and-guts war seems unlikely. Am I wrong? Curious to see what other people think. Anyone?
