Charlotte's transport referendum has won.

1% sales tax increase is expected to generate $19 billion/20 years, funding:
—Transit (40%): Red Line commuter rail, Silver Line light rail, Gold Line extension, Blue Line extension
—Road projects (40%)
—Bus improvements, creating frequent bus network (20%)
Just with early vote reporting, Charlotte's transportation sales tax referendum is currently up 55–45%. But I caution this is just the early vote!

Trump tries to build a fake wall of inevitability around everything he does.

Today, voters - literally from sea to shining sea - broke through all that, and this is just the beginning.

I was so sad to hear about Daniel Naroditsky passing away.
During the pandemic I spend hundreds of hours watching him teach chess on Twitch and YouTube. His famous super slow “speed runs”. I learned so much from him and I’ll miss him a lot. Rest in Peace.

Overheard someone on the phone in Atlanta saying “… agentic workflows” and I am so happy to be working in Robotics where I have not heard anyone say that phrase in weeks.

🚨HUGE WIN for Michigan transit! 🚍

We just secured a record $160 MILLION increase — the largest in state history 🙌

Thanks to relentless transit advocates, pro-transit legislators, and @gretchenwhitmer.bsky.social!

The latest version of MacOS and iOS is so sloppy. When they released Vision Pro as a half baked expensive thing I told Aosheng that it was day 2 for Apple. I am sad to be right. It’s so depressing to watch a company that you admired for so long dissapear in front of your eyes.

Spent some time this weekend working on a vagrant box that makes it easier to use ROS2 inside Ubuntu on an Apple Silicon Mac via VMWare Fusion.

Not sure what is more challenging trying to get ros2 work done on MacOS or trying to get an Ubuntu VM running on an M series Mac. Just pain on top of pain everywhere you look. :)

You’re allowed to write a paragraph without using an emdash.

Punctuation outside of commas and periods are most effective when used sparingly.

A dash of em can go a long way. 😉

You know you are really getting deep into a learning hole when you look up a definition and the definition also has new words, and that definition also has new words.
