To help lift up the fallen, we must sow the seeds of goodness

Oh yes, these songs are already on our protest playlist. . .recently added "Join ICE". . .
Four-time Grammy Award nominee Jesse Welles performs his song "Join Ice."

Bob Dylan once said a single folk singer could defeat an entire army. Ladies and gentlemen, I think we have our man.

to the extent that there is a “carrot” to trumpism it is the same carrot that slaveholders offered to lower class white men: “you can be an overseer”

Amazon Web Services hosts massive surveillance systems for both ICE and DHS.

Citizens Bank provides nearly $1 trillion in credit & bonds to private prison companies.

AT&T has a $147 million contract to provide communications services to DHS.

Know who is profiting from ICE’s cruelty.

Naming someone is not doxxing. They aren’t undercover. They aren’t intelligence agents overseas. This is outrageous - we are supposed to be a free Republic and these people want an authoritarian police state. Lawsuits should be filed & ranking Dems in Congress should act.

100,000 people are already signed up for this. . . .historic.

his death was caused by the response to Renee Good's killing. The agents on the streets learned they could kill with impunity from that first evil act of impeding the state investigation and smearing the victim.

For the umpteenth time, Brian nails it. House Dem Leadership screwed up big last week. This isn't "I told ya so." There should be some real reflection within the Dem Caucus about the systemic error in judgement that dismissed all efforts aimed at getting them to make the right call last week.
The murder of Alex Pretti might prove to be a political turning point for the GOP. It should be a turning point for Dems, too. For the current leadership, and the consultant-industrial complex, which just fatally endangered the careers of seven members who chose to put morality last.
A Failure In Plain Sight
Who, if anyone, will acknowledge the obvious, and do something about it?

I want to see a photo of Scott Bessent carrying a *billboard* at a protest. Mind you, a *billboard*, not a protest sign. Is someone going to generate a photo of that for us? I don't have those skills. . . .

We have been told for nearly 30 years that America needed to tolerate mass shootings because the broad availability of guns would help us defend ourselves from an overreaching federal government. That day has come. The people who said this are supporting the federal agents. Many have joined them.

*We thank our Illinois Democratic lawmakers in the U.S. House for voting NO* on the DHS funding bill.

But seven @housedemocrats.bsky.social from other states helped Republicans pass the bill, and Democratic leadership in the House didn't work to stop them. @democrats.senate.gov had better step up!
House passes sprawling spending package as Democrats split over ICE funding
The House voted separately on DHS funding and another package of bills to avoid a partial shutdown and repeal a law that allows certain GOP senators to sue DOJ for $500,000.

Recently I've been spending some time with pro-democracy leaders from other countries organizing against national strongmen. Their stories of organizing against authoritarians are eerily familiar. Among the many clear takeaways: stand up to bullies and go on offense because defense doesn’t win.
