Parliament is back, and with the federal budget in October, Canada must act on climate. I joined 80+ organizations calling on PM Carney and leaders to meet the moment with strong climate action. Tell them to protect our health and future: cape.ca/action/meet-...
Meet the Moment - CAPE
Across party lines, most people want our political leaders to do more to reduce climate risks and costs which represent the single greatest health and economic risks we face today.

Action alert: The City of Toronto is considering restricting fossil fuel ads. These ads undermine climate action & put everyone at risk.

We have a short window of time for the City Council to act.

Rural and Urban voters need to be heard from more on most issues.
The thing about transport and housing policy under first-past-the-post is it's always going to be built around what appeals to suburban swing voters over what's good for us as a whole.

And unless we switch to a proportional system, that dynamic isn't changing anytime soon.

Regardless of where we live or how we vote, extreme weather puts us all at risk: and we know, without a shadow of a doubt, climate change is making it worse.

To build resilience, we need more data, more expertise, more preparation, more communication to keep people safe—NOT LESS!

This is scandalous. The El Paso SPC is one of the few ICE detention centers owned by ICE itself. Members of Congress cannot legally be turned away from ICE facilities when conducting oversight. Yet these emails say Noem herself is deciding when and how Members can conduct oversight.
This week, ICE illegally denied me entry into a processing facility in my district, and today, they released a statement saying I “[gave] the appearance of a political stunt intended to generate publicity rather than pursue genuine oversight.”

I have some thoughts.🧵

American politicians telling MB to manage its forests better so they don’t get the wildfire smoke is like someone with a backyard pond telling us to manage the pollution in the Great Lakes better. When, to expand the analogy, 🇺🇸 are responsible for 30% of the problem and 🇨🇦 are responsible for 2%.
Manitoba Premier Wab Kinew calls out U.S. lawmakers complaining about smoke from Canadian wildfires
“This is what turns people off politics,” Kinew said, accusing the Republicans from Minnesota and Wisconsin of trying to get Instagram likes

Poilievre needs security clearance partly because he got married (2017), and that clearance would need to look at his wife and in-laws
His wife, Anaida, has family ties to Gabriel Vasquez, a Colombian businessman convicted of laundering millions for drug cartels
Pierre PoiLIEvre is a D!€k: Part 3

He insists that he has already been cleared and he doesn’t need a renewal of his security clearance

While claiming it's to protect children, Alberta just banned a bunch of books from schools that teach children that gay people exist and are normal.

The Bible is not banned despite featuring slavery, rape, incest, and genocide.
