European costumers: 123inkt.nl (dutch stationery store) has flipcharts with a 2.5cm grid that you can use to enlarge historical patterns!!! So stoked to not have to draw my own inch grid that’s inevitably crooked 🥲🧵🪡

18th century mitts made from a secondhand woolen scarf. Cut on grain instead of on the bias bc the scarf was narrow, so it’s a squeeze but they’re nice and warm 😌 🧵🪡

"No one ever thought this would happen" is dishonest and journalists not pointing that out are doing you all a disservice. Many people said word for word this would happen. You just didn't respect those people. And you need to be honest instead of the feigned surprise for sympathy.

Just made two left sleeves and didn’t notice until everything was overlocked and I had handsewn the cuff on.

Really proud of myself for not ending it all right then and there.

The striped turquoise of this #1760s robe a la francaise dress is disrupted by blurry blooms created by a technique called chiné a la branche, whereby warp threads are grouped together prior to weaving. It is beautifully indistinct against the sharp lines of white, V&A #FashionHistory 🗃️🪡
