I ❤️ my job. Last night I got an email from a former client that she's defending on Friday.

This morning I got an email from a client on mat leave with a photo of her baby.

Today 2 former clients came back to coworking after time away because they needed a safe space to write.

This is the best.

Publishers want to know whether your work engages with conversations they (and their readers) are already engaged in. Does the audience of this outlet - journal or press - already read things related to this topic? Sell these connections!

Friends, I only have 4 tortillas left.

I don't know when I will get more after this.
One of the downsides to moving soon is that I have to eat everything in my freezer.

Including my last package of HEB fresh tortillas.

I've saved them for a rainy day.

Do snowy days count? I've got those coming....

Such a difficult, miserable, yummy task...

Does anyone have a good article for teaching undergrads to interpret qualitative data? developing codes, coding interview data, etc?

Too much writing is never a good thing! Sustainable writing practices fluctuate but rarely average more than 500 words/day; most are around 250 wpd if you’re thinking as you write. This maxes out your intense brain time for the day (around 3-4 hrs).

What's one tip or piece of advice you'd give a beginning student creating their own quantitative data set? (Imagine they need to collect, say, 3-4 variables to add to existing data.)

What standards do you hold yourself to? Do others in your department and field use the same ones? Is it time to perhaps reset (some of) your standards toward the field median?

Would it help to talk to an outsider about your standards & everyone else's? I offer a free consult - just ask!

I can also extend this to a new associate prof who needs to figure out a new plan given the changed responsibilities.

(In short, I've got 2 windows in my schedule that need filling and I'm open to helping folks who have a real need but otherwise might not be able to afford coaching.)

Academic Writer's Mantras #7: Part of what comes with being a good friend in academia is providing support and feedback on uncertain texts. You're not an editor on demand, but intermittent help - both requested and offered - is understood to be part of the territory.
