Over a year ago I began research on why many trans women love fashion and (more important) why the industry only sometimes loves us back. On the way I uncovered lost images, unknown models, and got sent way back to the French Revolution. Hope you enjoy

I've noticed a "fun" phenomenon on Google Translate (which I use to help build flashcards off audio) where when I accidentally translate a Spanish word in English to Spanish the machine spits out gibberish, *which is always themed on petroleum*. Fifth time, very ominous.

Today was my first time doing immigration courtwatching in 2 months, but it was also the first time I was really able to understand some of the questions and provide answers in Spanish. The feeling of satisfaction is profound. Language learning pays off everyone, keep up the study

my big issue with "enshittification" as a term is that it represents what it critiques: a general decline in facility with metaphor, overall literary cleverness, public intellectual culture itself. Compare with a term like Twain's "The Gilded Age"
