I’m doing something I never do these days: I’ve started watching a series despite the fact it’s only dropping an episode every week like it’s the olden days.

That series is Welcome to Derry. This may be the reason.

For my money, Coy is the best historical/counterfactual horror author writing today. If you've not read Colossus... already: go, grab it now!
If you've read my occult novel Colossus with a Poison Tongue, please help me out by giving it a rating on Goodreads! If you haven't, the ebook is 99 cents on Amazon & Kobo. Links below.

OK, thing that I can reveal is that until now, my self-published space opera books, The Questrison Saga®️ (writing as J. Dianne Dotson) were my bestsellers. Now, Dungeon Crawl at the Haunted Mall, my @chooseadventure.bsky.social out April 2026, has smashed everything else in preorders. Thank you!

@beverleylee.bsky.social's in the hot seat this week for the BFS 🔥
Every Friday, we meet a member of the BFS and peer deep into their soul (or, at least, a form they filled out). Today we're hitting gothic mode with @beverleylee.bsky.social, whose coming-of-age folk horror The Haunting of Wounded Birds came out this week.

Says iconic director Steven Spielberg: "My early exposure to all the leviathans of the Saturday matinee creature features inspired me, when I grew up, to make Jurassic Park."

What might the creatures featured in Writing the Occult: Creatures & Cryptids inspire you to create? 🧵⬇️

Look at this crazy thing Lindz did - while also studying and writing a shitload of other books, too. Hardest working woman in the biz! 💪
I spent over a year of my life writing this collaborative craft book with eleven other (fantastic! talented! good-looking!) writers.

Genre often comes with a community of love, but the love is earned by writing which is literary, innovative and connective. The emotional muscle and poetry of writing doesn’t live exclusively anywhere - certainly not in long listed books.
