Civil liberties advocates have warned about this for years: an ICE agent used data about remittances to Mexico to track down an immigrant, solely on a charge of unauthorized reentry — not money laundering or any other crime often used to justify such surveillance theintercept.com/2025/08/21/i...

This is part of the greater war on education and expertise that’s ongoing. A professional class of law enforcement is anathema to the people in power who want blunt weapons with which to beat the undesirables, not people who can think, and question, and refuse.
Apart from firearms, the part of training we spent the most time on (if I am recalling correctly) was legal instruction. Now the FBI is hiring people with no college degree and slashing training time in half (reducing academics, guessing ethics also). Absolute disaster www.nysun.com/article/fbi-...

The weird, vague grammar of “you won’t have a country anymore.” Its deliberately awkward phrasing makes response impossible. What does it mean to “have” a country? If one doesn’t have it, where does it go?

El Salvador also says it doesn’t have the power to return Abrego Garcia.

It’s obvious bullshit and depraved to the core.
Pam Bondi: “That’s up to El Salvador if they want to return him…If they wanted to return him, we would facilitate it, meaning provide a plane.”

Nayib Bukele: “How can I return him to the U.S.? Like, I smuggle him into the U.S.?”

No, you put him on the plane the AG just said the US would provide!
