BREAKING 🧨

I'm now in possession of evidence confirming a second trans youth suicide, where the patient's data was NOT sent to NHS England, for inclusion in Appleby's flawed DHSC report "Review of suicides and gender
dysphoria at the Tavistock and
Portman NHS Foundation Trust:
independent report"

With 38 hrs to go to the EHRC consultation deadline I'm seeing posts from people feeling bad they're too stressed to engage.
The GLP⬇️has removed all but the last step, a general comment box. This is a far easier task. I hope it helps those who want to, to get their voice heard without too much pain.
How to respond to the EHRC consultation
Good Law Project has taken advice from a leading public law King’s Counsel on how to respond to the EHRC’s consultation. What follows is a form which, after you complete it, will automatically be sent...

We cannot compete with the vast sums JK Rowling has to spend on her war on a tiny minority and civil society organisations that want to promote inclusivity.

But @goodlawproject.bsky.social is the UK's biggest defender of trans rights. If you'd like to support our work there's a link in my bio.

An update on the withholding of suicide data🧵

Remember how in Dec 2024, after 5 months of chasing NHS England and the DHSC as to whether Alice's data was sent to the DHSC for a report into trans youth suicide by Prof Appleby, I made a FOI of the Tavistock and Portman NHS Trust to ask them...

To mark the 1st day of my 4th year without Alice I have an announcement:
I’ve joined up with a determined group of women working to change the narrative around trans people. Women standing in solidarity with our trans siblings.

Our first step is to ask cis women to read and sign our open letter ⬇️
Not in our name: Women in support of the trans+ community
Can you spare a minute to help this campaign?

Have you written to your MP about the impact of the Supreme Court ruling on the Equality Act?

Our wonderful pals at Scottish Trans have created a resource that you can use to write to your MP and your MSP too. You'll find it at www.scottishtrans.org/supreme-cour...

Listening to my new Bells Larsen CD this morning. All the songs sound like duets, but they’re actually the same person singing at different stages of their life: one before the vocal changes from taking testosterone, one after. Such magical trans music. Queerness is beautiful. 🏳️‍⚧️🏳️‍🌈

I have been actively following this FOI request and am so grateful for @reactiveashley.bsky.social for pursuing this.

We know Alice's data was not sent to the DHSC for Appleby to review. So it's particularly galling to read the Information Commissioner's Office quote Appleby at length stating:
1/🧵 Today, I am suing the Information Commissioner (and potentially Wes Streeting’s Department of Health and Social Care, if they choose to participate) over the secrecy surrounding the Louis Appleby Report and the suicide statistics related to the Tavistock GIDS.

The UK’s ILGA Europe ranking for 2025 is so frightening. It’s unsafe to be Queer here.

Just a note though. ILGA exclude asexuality from all of their work. It’s nowhere on their website or glossary. It really hurts to be erased.

Their work is important but we must hold them accountable.

Practical things you can do as a Cis ally:

- Write to your MP
- Protest
- Give funds to Trans led advocacy groups
- Use whatever social capital you have to support your workplace, your kids schools, your communities to resist the erasure of Trans people from public life.

As an asexual person living in the UK, my sexuality has never been protected by the Equality Act.

Thankfully, I get by okay day-to-day simply by not disclosing it. I’m lucky.

Many trans people don’t have the same privilege. I will fight for trans rights before my own.

If your business or organisation is remaining silent about the UK Supreme Court’s decision, you are not welcome at Pride this summer.

Pride is first and foremost a protest. It isn’t something to attend in order to tick ‘LGBTQIA+’ off your outreach list.
