Haruki Murakami

I run early just to see the sunrise.
Today I saw the sun and the moon.
Well done, sky.
10 trail miles before it got mushy.
Happy Valentine's Day!

Here comes the sun
And I say, "It's all right"
George Harrison

45° and sunny today!
The snow was getting a little mushy and the ice has disappeared.
1 layer of clothes!
Orange was the color to celebrate non-darkness.
4.7 miles of happiness.

When you get a good workout in, you feel good for the rest of the day. It helps clear the mind.
Reggie Miller

Speed intervals today.
Felt good throughout even though I was running against wind gusts half the time.
Sore upper body from heavy lifting yesterday. (The best!)
Enjoy your day!
Mine is A+!

Perfect tranquility within consists in the good ordering of the mind, the realm of your own.
Marcus Aurelius

12 solo trail miles this morning.
My mind was free from all the bad stuff for a few hours.
Running in snow is a workout.

Sometimes, you just need to be okay with being meh.
Unknown

Yesterday's speed interval workout was meh.
Some rus are like that.
Legs never loosened up.
It makes me appreciate the really good runs.
Luckily, you can run anytime you want.
My brother texted me this photo from California.
Not meh. 🙂

The greatest secrets are always hidden in the most unlikely places. Those who don't believe in magic will never find it.
Roald Dahl

9.5 mile trail run with friends last evening just as deer were appearing throughout our route.
The snow and the moon lit up the darkness.
Magical.

There's always a little bit of heaven, even in a disaster area.
Wavy Gravy

5 beautiful sunny miles all around the nature center today.
Snow was packed, the ice minimal, the people non-existent.
A refuge.
Perfect. 🤗🤗🤗

running "is the therapy that always works" Anonymous

Speed work in regular shoes finally.
5° and sunny. The ice is slowly lessening.
The other ICE is still here terrorizing people.
So glad I can run away from the awfulness for an hour.
For some, it is never-ending.😥
Photo is hope for spring.

Nothing burns like the cold.
George R. R. Martin

-25 with the windchill today.
Spikes again.
4 miles was good enough.
Vaseline on my face works well as do the hand warmers.
I saw an albino duck!
No more outside running until this cold snap abates.

Throw caution to the wind and just do it.
Carrie Underwood

Speed workout in spikes yesterday.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Slowest Speed workout ever.
12°, feels like 0.
Got it done.
Felt accomplished.
My hair was frozen to my hat.
F***ing ice.

I live in a northern suburb of Minneapolis and on my way home yesterday there were three gray-haired seniors on Main Street overpass of Hwy 10 protesting Trump. 12°.
My heart was lifted and I smiled tearfully all the way home.

We must accept finite disappointment, but never lose infinite hope. Martin Luther King, Jr.

I live in the Twin Cities. Everyday ICE is a constant threat to people I work with, family, our way of life.
So I run.
I ran on ice yesterday.
And cried on my way home.
I think of Anne Frank.
Still I hope.

I became insane, with long intervals of horrible sanity.
Edgar Allan Poe

Intervals today. They weren't as bad as Poe's.
Opted for the dam road again. Ice/ICE is still everywhere.
10@1:30.
At least there's no cars.
Just walkers & dog walkers.
We are heading into the deep freeze now. 🥶

You're only one workout away from a good mood. Unknown.

7 trail miles the hard way: light layer of fresh snow over ice.
An adventure and a workout! No falls.
A beautiful morning on the trail.
Can't wait for the ice and ICE to be gone.

Kristi Noem needs a pepper ball to the face.

Please share.. ICE THUGS shot & killed a woman in Minneapolis. Then attack citizens point blank with teargas grenades, pepper ball guns & chemical spray in the faces. Of course, Greg Bovino was in the mix. He needs to be brought up for murder charges.🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬

A little progress each day adds up to big results. Satya Nani

Finally was able to run in my favorite part of the park reserve.
Trails were somewhat groomed but soft.
6.5 miles in no wind, 16°, made for a great workout and a satisfying run!
Forward.

My heart is in Havana
Havana, ooh-na-na
Camilla Caballo

This was the most ironic song on my playlist this morning.
7° and a light snow falling.
A run on New Year's Day has been a must since I started running 10 years ago.
I hope everyone's 2026 is peaceful & happy.

If the only prayer you said in your whole life was, 'thank you,' that would suffice.
Meister Eckhart

1st trail run in 3 months on crunchy, ice patchy snow.
It was wonderful.
Almost 6 miles with friends.
Grateful tears.

Always plan, but never plan on your plans.
Tony Robinson

Planned on a speed workout.
Nature laughed and left me a thin layer of ice.
Pivot!
Snowy trail. Not icy.
Mushy.
Another adventure.
Lots of work to go 3 miles today.
Plans are like outlines, nothing more.
🤣

Christmas, children, is not a date. It is a state of mind.
Mary Ellen Chase

5 mile Christmas sunrise run with a friend this morning.
My first time doing the loop since getting the boot off! This is the best gift I could get today.
Have a happy day!

Every mile is two in the winter.
George Herbert

When spikes don't work you know it's icy.
A thin layer of light snow hid the ice.
All the runners were slipping or falling.
Hiking almost 5 miles in a frigid wind.
Still better than a treadmill.
