NO DMs.
Slow but dedicated distance trail and pavement runner.
Gardening, reading, and destination races are hobbies.
I support equal rights for all.
I brought in many plants before the cold and snow came. This Lisianthus bloomed yesterday.
We'll see if I remember to water all the rescues.
But today everything's coming up purple in a snow white Minnesota. 💜

Hello from the hellscape of Minneapolis/St Paul!
I spent most of Friday out & about all over the city & was not bothered by any roving Somali gangs.
Some immigrant people rang up my purchases. I bought things at immigrant and women-run places. No problems.
Huh.
We need to see those MRI results.

I suppose I will die never knowing what pumpkin pie tastes like when you have room for it.

Thanksgiving Day 5k Turkey Trot.
Fast walk in my boot for me.
26° and sunny.
So grateful to wear running clothes after 5-1/2 weeks!
Boot comes off Tuesday!
Much rejoicing then.
Enjoy the day!

Good morning!
How about a break from the news and pass a little gratitude along in the form of helping others today?

I just want to feel normal again.

2 weeks into a 6 week boot sentence.
I am sick of riding a bike to nowhere. I want to be outside!
This time of the year is golden for running in Minnesota. No snow, ice, or wind chill.
Tears at the gym watching people running on the track.
Sucks.

They're funny things, Accidents. You never have them till you're having them.
A. A. Milne

Knocking an 18lb kettlebell on your toes while at the gym was an accident.
Lovely black boot for 6 wks.
So glad I got to do my big race before this happened!
3 small races are canceled.
Shit happens.

Autumn, the year's last, loveliest smile
- William Cullen Bryant

Bright October crispness this morning.
I was at Mines of Spain ultra in Iowa to support a friend this weekend. Poured rain through the night. This is not an easy race to begin with.
Leaf colors are amazing now!

As the next No Kings Protest nears is anyone else pissed that no one is mentioning that the 1st No Kings protest was the same day as Melissa Hortman & her husband's assassination by a Christian Nationalist Trumper?
I just heard a podcaster say it was quiet that day.
Not here in Minnesota.
WTF.

Linda Grayson

Or a friend who runs with you.
Chilly, foggy 7 mile morning trail run with a friend.
Good conversation, pretty views, fun sidewalk art.
So glad to be back to a normal routine!

It felt like that kind of trail run.
Almost a month since running my home turf; familiar trails, hills, terrain.
So happy I almost floated.
Funny how your skills get rusty from a little absence.
Fall has come to Minnesota.

I like Hollywood. I just like Minneapolis a little bit better.

Twin City 10 mile today. It's known as The shortcut to the Capitol. The Twin City Marathon takes the long way; past the Basilica, Sculpture Garden, 4 lakes, & 2 parkways.
Lost steam but finished. Not fully recovered from 100k.

Cool, early morning hill repeats today.
Recovery has been going well.
Happy run through a park & a secluded trail.
Birds, flowers, fallen leaves made it beautiful.

The slogan works in AA and when recovering from a race.
My legs were like running on 2x4s on Tuesday & Wednesday.
Bike ride today.
Seriously want to do that distance again.

I ran Dot's Last Standing 24 hour in Wisconsin. 62.5 miles (100k) finished!
So glad to FINALLY get it.
Friends paced me overnight. So many helped while I trained.
Never give up.
