I want to buy Charlie Tuna a new cat tree, but I can't find one that suits our needs.

Her: sturdy enough to survive the Jackolope runs, normal carpet, flat perch on top.
Me: surface at half height perfect for stretching my quads, puts cat at armpit height for wrangling the dagger paws

The City of Ottawa says the Chief William Commanda Bridge will close for the winter at 7 a.m. tomorrow.

And this comes as no surprise to anyone who rides a bike year round in Autowa.

I note that this winterized unicycle was forced to illegally ride on the sidewalk because @en.ottawa.ca cleared the road and sidewalk but not the bike lane on Scott Street
Good morning to the person who passed me on a winterized unicycle (?!) as I was walking to the LRT this morning.

Hey @mayormarksutcliffe.bsky.social Scott Street's cycle tracks are a) in the winter cycling network, and b) in the "ploughed within four hours of accumulation stopping" bracket of your organization's snow clearing timelines. Get on it, pal.

Just listened to @shadkmusic.bsky.social 's new album, Start Anew.
That's some good vibes right there. Gonna take a few more listens to hear it all.

With the first snowfall arriving in #Ottawa, I really wish we'd make it standard that for areas w/ complex/hard-to-plow surfaces (stairs/bus stops/bike racks/etc) we'd install heating (w/ permeable pavement) to melt snow and keep things clear & safe.

FYI, the new bridge at Kiweki Point is heated!🔥

Hey #Autowa, I know it's tough to notice while staring at your phones, but it's snowing outside.
Maybe you could, oh I dunno, TURN ON YOUR LIGHTS?

So many incognito grey, white, and black vehicles out there today. The responsibility of being seen is shared yanno!

I just bought so many spice jars at the dollar store, the cashier asked me if I needed the receipt, he assumed I needed it for work.
I said no, I'm redoing my spice cabinet, I hoped I had enough.
He hit me with this look:

a man with a beard wearing a blue hat and a black shirt is making a funny face .

I introduced my Turkish coworker to static spray yesterday, her skirt was trying to be pants and I could tell she was uncomfortable.
As I sprayed her down, she said, 'You mean there's a product for this problem?' 'Yeah, this is anti-static spray!'
She said 'Only in Canada! 😂'

Oh hey #ottbike, just a reminder: if you're riding EB on Scott from Churchill to about Smirle today, there's lots of signage and associated debris, as well as a hubcap somewhere, in the bike lane. Plus the gravel at Winona. The snow is gonna be an issue.

The City tells me my service request was attended to on Oct. 30, and these signs were not there at that time.
I disagree.

Date range: Oct. 17 to today.

Alt text: 4 photos of the same collection of temp traffic advisory signs, blocking a bike lane and sidewalk.

So tired of signage blocking the EB Scott bike lane.
Looking forward to the possibility of a sidewalk plow just taking it all out on Sunday.
If they don't go around, and therefore not plow the bike lane, that is.

What an absolute shocker. The Watson Club is alive and well.

Surprise surprise that all the suburban and rural councilors voted yes on a project that doesn't directly affect them at all. 😒

This is a massive grift, and we'll all pay the exorbitant price for it.

Lansdowne 2.0 passes 15-10.

As a group dedicated to financial transparency and smart investments in community infrastructure, we had concerns around the reporting process and special financial treatment given to Lansdowne 2.0, as well as the lack of tangible transit improvements.

No the fuck they are not.

Facing a white strobe is completely blinding to others, and strobes don't allow others to gauge where you are and how fast you are moving accurately.

This is a hill I will (probably) die on (because I'll topple over the edge from being blinded by strobe lights).
Blinking bike lights are fine, get over it.

What is with drivers who pull out into traffic directly into the path of oncoming vehicles? I've noticed it happening A LOT.

Taking the bus to work (bike to pick up later), bus is 11mins late, and my sealed coffee mug opened in my knapsack pocket and poured half my coffee on the floor before I noticed.
What a blessed day.

Taking the bus home (bike's in the shop til tomorrow), and I see (feel) the curb lane on Richmond EB at IPD is still a death trap.
I guess it's a good thing Richmond is too dangerous to ride for 99% of riders. 🤷🏼

Hi, people with penises: if you use a common bathroom at work, and you're too tall for your pee to make it into the toilet without spraying the floor, can you please sit to pee?

I don't enjoy knowing my pant hems are wiping up your bodily fluids.

Thanks,
