He/Him. A programmer with thespian leanings. I have a love of laserdiscs and physical media in general. Expect lots of rabbits, nerdiness, video editing, and unhealthy levels of Highlander 2.

LGBTQ+ welcome. Fascists not.

I've not had much time lately so it's taken me too long to get around to @techconnectify.bsky.social latest video...but wow!

This is probably the most powerful video I've seen on YouTube for a long time.

It's a long one but recommended viewing for everyone.

With BlueSky verifying and endorsing ICE this account will be going quiet for a while until I see how this thing plays out.

Turns out that there's a whole 1984 film called "The Audition" (ザ・オーディション) about the group and it heavily features the Jim Steinman track throughout...

Sigh...I'm going to have to track down a copy of this aren't I?

I love Jim Steinman and I love J-Pop, so I love the handful of times that his songs got turned into J-Pop hits.

I recently discovered one that had previously passed me by, a Japanese cover of "Rock & Roll Dreams Come Through" by Saint Four (セイントフォー) and I love it!

I don't identify as a Christian, but somehow the message of "love thy neighbor as yourself" managed to make it through to my brain and I take it seriously.

Even brown people are my neighbors and I don't care if they "shouldn't be here" I don't want masked thugs kidnapping them.

That's not liberty.

Right, I think I've finally got the hang of this new year thing...time to get back to listening my way through all my surround sound albums.

I'm into the 1980s now with Queen's "The Game" in 5.1 on DVD-A.

A nice surround sound mix of an often overlooked album in Queen's large back catalogue.

Keep hearing devs say that they only use ai for "pre-concept art"

There is no pre-concept art. There is concept art. That's where the idea starts. With the concept.

You're using ai for concept art.

Welcome to new Bluesky users.

Here’s how we do things:

1. Always observe the Hambledon Protocol

2. No flisking

3. If someone tealights you, rink them without apology

4. I don’t mind them so much, but tissue-posts are generally frowned on

5. No questions

Good luck!

I spotted a lovely pulpy edition of a collection of Arthur C. Clarke's "Tales from the White Hart" stories in a Guisborough charity shop.

I love these playful short stories, definitely amongst my favourites of his works...but I've already got them in a complete collection of his short stories.

And the story took place in... 2026 😁

And since it's never too late to (re)discover one of the first sci-fi classics...

After falling in love with this Polish film on Mubi I finally got a Blu Ray copy of "War of the Wolds: Next Century".

Why does no one talk about this film?! It's incredible!

A genuine dystopian classic about the power of government propaganda that still feels horribly fresh and relevant today.
