Blue turd in red country. Not a big deal.
Your morning reminder that Trump is a con man and you didn’t fall for his bullshit. You deserve an extra slice of pie.

Trump is absolutely cratering on economy in new Marquette poll:

Overall econ approval: 36-64
On tariffs: 37-63
On inflation/cost of living: 28-72 (!!!)

"We’re looking at a really grim downward spiral for Trump," says @timothynoah.bsky.social. All on the pod:

Remember: The richest 1% evade over $160 billion in taxes every year.

That amount would fund SNAP for a year with money to spare.

Ask yourself who the real freeloaders are.

I can spend the day licking my wounds. I gave myself the day to do just that actually. Today I’m going to remember that I’m alive and I have agency. The race isn’t run yet. I’m called to live an aggressively accountable life and I will meet the moment. #Columbus #georgia

This.
Shutting down the government is a big deal. People have been hurt in big ways as a result of the decision. To have that suffering be for nothing—to re-open the government without actually having protected people’s health insurance and economic well-being—is unconscionable.

Dear Walmart,

Consideeing you have more employees on SNAP than any other company — instead of simply having a ‘cheaper’ Thanksgiving bundle, how about giving your underpaid employees who must rely on SNAP for survival, one for free? It’s the least you can do. And I stress, the LEAST…

I have always avoided lentils until this weekend when I learned to put them in water and let them go until they were tender. They are delicious. In a pot I cooked onions and bell peppers with basil and oregano and of course garlic, then added beans, mushrooms, corn and tomatoes. Smells wonderful.

As Georgia Returns to Electing Its Utility Commission, Worries over Democracy Linger
A pair of races are crystallizing issues with fair representation in Georgia: officials who stay in their seats years past their term, low-turnout runoffs, and the diluted power of Black voters.
