She/her. Welsh. Avid reader of multiple genres. Grumpy perimenopausal mother of two. Union rep.
I love The Conversation, fascinating articles and often from a Welsh pov. Would love to listen to this being read.
The greatest poetic metre you’ve probably never heard of
Cynghanedd, the ancient Welsh art of poetic harmony, weaves rhythm, rhyme and alliteration into intricate patterns.

A bit of an odd request: I'm searching for any English-language cartoons (esp. pre-1930) that touch on abortion, contraception, and/or reproductive health. I'm perusing suffrage publications, but any ideas / leads welcomed. Looking to update some things for a spring class.

Trade Card of Nathaniel Longbottom, “Supplier of Skeletons in St. Thomas's Street, Southwark,” late 18th century. Longbottom would likely have had interactions with bodysnatchers (or “resurrectionists”) to help him procure skeletons for his shop.

Got overexcited for Christmas books and found my last read a bit sweet. I'm now reading Ho Ho Homicidal Maniac by K A Merikan, part of their Murder and Mistletoe series. M/m with a serial killer falling for a true crime podcaster. Yes, it's as mad as it sounds! #books #BookSky 💙 📚 🌶️

Do please get behind this & support it in any way you can. I would still appreciate contributions to the three writers’ bursaries and for any short online course providers to offer something, with nonfic, fiction and poetry categories this year. #curae #carers thecuraeprize.uk This is a vital thing

Have been naughty on #borrowbox particularly this month, two books went back before I'd finished them and are now on my reserve list for next year. Trying to sort my tbr list out a little before I decided what to read next. #books #BookSky 💙📚

Finished 'Tic-Tac-Mistletoe' by NR Walker, a forced proximity m/m holiday romance. A bit too fluffy and sweet for me, I would have appreciated a bit more conflict. It also had a very low level of heat. Think Hallmark movie in a novel. #books #BookSky 💙 📚

My current holiday read, Tic-Tac-Mistletoe by N R Walker is lovely and cosy, but alas very very sweet. I'm apparently in the mood for studying this morning, and have fallen down a rabbit hole about Argentina and VS Naipaul. Jstor is being accessed.

Just started 'Something Wicked: The Lives, Crimes and Deaths of the Pendle Witches' by Carol Ann Lee, another #borrowbox book to catch up on. So far, I'm very impressed with the writing and the research that's gone into it. #books #BookSky 💙 📚

Finished 'Celebrating The Season', part of Nora Phoenix's Forestville Foxes universe about older men finding love in a small town. Boaz (29) meets a sexy Santa (Ellery, 50) at a bachelor party. This was a sweet, spicy m/m romance with a bit of mild D/s dynamic (mild spanking). #books #BookSky 💙 📚 🌶️

Finished 'The Bell Witches'. I think it would have worked without the romance entirely - a book about a young woman from a generation of Witches coming into her powers with her friends alongside her and not mooning over a boy she's just met! This is probably me being 45 though 🤷🏼‍♀️ #BookSky #books 💙📚

Trying to finish off 'The Bell Witches' by Lindsey Kelk. YA is not really a genre I read a great deal of. The Savannah setting is great, some intriguing family secrets and interesting world building. The love at first sight romance is not doing it for me though. #books #BookSky 💙 📚

Not been keeping up with my normal amount of reading lately, but I'm hoping to catch up with a couple of #borrowbox books this weekend and then read ALL the KU m/m holiday romances along with ALL the seasonal murder mysteries! #books #BookSky 💙 📚

Watching 'Our Little Secret' on Netflix. So far, thinking that brunette is not good enough for Lindsey. Her dad is played by Henry Czerny, who is a steller actor, very glad to see him, especially now he's split up with that wig!

At the end of the day, don’t we all just want to pull a book from a bookshelf and find that it reveals a hidden room?

Mission home-made secret Santa for work today. Part of it is a pickle Christmas tree decoration. Unfortunately, both kids wanted one for themselves, so meet 'Frank' who is giving me Frankenstein's monster vibes!

Busy day, now I'm trying to catch up with my #borrowbox #books. Tonight, I've just started Henry V by Dan Jones after reading a good review. I've been enjoying the holiday m/m but I've been feeling like reading a bit of non fiction this weekend. #BookSky 💙 📚

The four-year-old loves A Kinder World, a beautiful little self-care app about watering plants, furnishing rooms and sending letters to people. I like her enjoying the parts where she names her emotions, talks about what she's grateful for and dictates caring letters to me.

This year, Thanksgiving coincided with the local town's annual lantern parade, so the kids and I watched Macy's parade then went to a real one. Only one float, no balloons but we still got to see Father Christmas waving, marching bands, characters and the locals with home-made lanterns.

When I said 'multiple genres' I forgot to mention December will include a rather large amount of Kindle Unlimited holiday m/m smut.
