Nothing brings Michigan together online like Aurora watch parties. Yes, I can't feel my face. Lol. Awesome views at this cam though the event. www.youtube.com/live/pkXO2V7...

I missed roughly 10 minutes of the Lions game today due to a dumpster fire. Did anything exciting happen? Didn't think so. Congrats on the win, D.

The first snow has arrived

Autumn. Getting a dash of winter now as a cold air system comes through, might snow, might not. Might do all seasons in one day. This is Michigan after all.

There is something really wrong with people who need workers to be not just competent, but slavishly fake-happy. "Slavishly" used on purpose, bc that's where this grotesquerie comes from.
"Store employees are now required to smile if they are within 10 feet of a shopper.

They also must make eye contact with and wave to or greet the customer.

If they’re within four feet, the employee should ask how the customer’s day is going or if they need help."

🙄 Won't stop the boycott, y'all.
Target is now requiring its employees to smile more
As the holiday season fast approaches, Target is urging its employees to add a little more “jolly” to their work routine.

It's nice to hear some good news for a change. Congrats to Detroit and Mary Sheffield on your historic win. I hope your term is successful and the City and its people benefit

Indeed.
Well, fuck.
I was laid off from Teen Vogue today along with multiple other staffers, and today is my last day.

certainly more to come from me when the dust has settled more, but to my knowledge, after today, there will be no politics staffers at Teen Vogue.

Some more fall birds. A white breasted nuthatch, a rose breasted nuthatch, chickadees, a house finch, and some goldfinch in their fall/winter colors. (one yelling at a chickadee, lol)

They Live is a fantastic film but every time I introduce it to a Gen Z friend I'm reminded that the plot boils down to, "two hobos carry out a series of workplace mass shootings because they believe half the population are aliens wearing human skin"
