Is there any beef between James Cameron and Peter Jackson? One of the secondary antagonists in these last two Avatars bears a striking resemblance to Jackson

Rewatched Home Alone last night and John Candy's performance (Gus Polinski, Polka King of the Midwest) is now officially my new favorite part of it

Being a columnist at a national publication must rock. You make like six figures annually just to churn out the same centrist contrarian drivel over and over again

It's really fucked up that The Force Awakens is already 10 years old

I am utterly dumbfounded and flabbergasted that the Dinotopia miniseries was made by Hallmark

This is why I have reverted back to reading stuff on a desktop whenever possible
It’s so cool that every website is just Like This now. We used to send guys to the chair for putting pop-up ads on their sites. Now if I want to read something I have to read single lines between autoplaying video ads that use so much RAM they force the browser to reload every 5 seconds.

I hate that every week there's something stupid like an Everyone Has To Drink Pee Now Bill and the alert sounds to CALL YOUR REPRESENTATIVES THIS IS NOT A DRILL and you really wish you could just trust them to not go for the pee drinking bill

Shout out to the parking lot attendant who opened the gate and let me get my car after the garage closed. You are such a real one

There are obviously bigger problems with The Phantom Menace, but Rick McCallum really should of confronted Lucas and been like "George, you can have a child monarch or an elected monarch, but you cannot have both"

Everyone imitates Tolkien all the time except when it comes to the one way it would really matter: making the protagonist of your novel for children a short, fat, 50-year-old man who doesn't want to do anything.

I think part of What's Going On with billionaires is that the daily friction of interacting with normal people is part of what anchors people to the real world, and once you have enough money to buy your way out of the friction you can knock down a load-bearing column propping up your sanity.

Will Cain is such a cunt
Fox News' Will Cain: "I’m sure there are very honorable law-abiding upstanding citizens and contributors from the Somali community here in the United States, BUT..."

He goes on to say "we aren’t going to pretend here that all cultures are of equal value or the same."

A View to a Kill is hilarious in hindsight because it's impossible to watch it today and not think Zorin has the right idea to destroy Silicon Valley

For my first ever Bluesky post, I will say that I really liked Predator Badlands, so much so that I didn't even mind the presence of a quirky, sassy robot/AI, which has rapidly become my least favorite scifi tropes
