(Pluribus finale) Dunno what the common reaction/interpretation is but...my read on the atom bomb stuff is that it's simply symbolic and won't have any literal bearing on the plot.

I see some people speculate like it's important to the plot but I felt like it's symbolic of "will give anything."

An administration driven by greed, cruelty, and frankly a sort of empty-hearted boredom. The death of innocents so they can beat their chests and line their already fat wallets.

Whatever comes next has to at least look like justice. We cannot just turn the page for the sake of one party’s comfort.

Fun fact, General Zaroff was added to Luck be a Landlord because of how he hunts humans in "The Most Dangerous Game." That short story entered the public domain in 2020.
