An email from a fabulous new memory fanatic today wanted to ensure that I'd heard about The Memory Code.

Which reminded me that I hadn't updated the discussion page about this epic books with @lynne-kelly-42.bsky.social in a long while.

Remedied!

ORKNEY - please protect it

I have been there twice for research, before it was so popular.
Everything was astounding: the archaeology, birds (puffins are adorable), the people, landscape ...

Overtourism is a global problem. I won't go back, for Orkney's sake.

800 detainees are missing after being held in Alligator Alcatraz in July, showing no record of their location in ICE’s database.

Other detainees have been mistakenly deported or sent to detention centers thousands of miles away.

Montana is extremely lucky to have Zooey Zephyr and SJ Howell standing up in front of openly transphobic lawmakers who wanted to pass a bill that would /take trans kids away from their parents./

10,000 year old accurate stories!
Delighted to see Patrick Nunn's 2018 article on longevity of Indigenous stories reprinted in Sapiens. Patrick's research and our discussions had a massive influence on my understanding of the robust nature of First Nations stories.
