The law is much more about power than doctrine. That certainly shouldn't be our aspiration, but it's the reality. And in order to win a better world, you have to engage with the world with that understanding.

It made me immeasurably sad to see many Jews (and many others) put together a smear campaign with false allegations of anti-Semitism to score political points. And it gives me so much belief in humanity that people saw through it.

Mamdani has mainstream views, has answered questions carefully, has not really made a misstep, and STILL gets accused of antisemitism because that word has become such a blunt, shapeless weapon. it helps nobody, least of all actual targets of actual antisemitism

There are some very bad stories going around about the Mahmoud Kahlil case. The hearing today was before an immigration judge — which is located within the Justice Department. They are NOT a "federal judge" in the sense that anyone reading at least one nationwide story saying so thinks of it.
