Trying to connect with other progressive military-connected folks out here under this Blue Sky - military spouse, military family member, AD, veteran, vet family member, civilians who work w military or vet community, ppl who care about keeping the military loyal to its oath to the Constitution. 👋🏼
For once in my life, my guess was correct! Love Sami’s work w Betches, but most impactful for me was reading Democracy in Retrograde by Sami and Emily Amick (IG @/emilyinyourphone). Build community, keep fighting for our country.

And guess what - our military won’t be stronger for it. Maybe there will be literally more physical muscle, but less strategy, less capability, less precision, less talent, less institutional knowledge, less innovative and cross-platform thinking, less critical analysis, less effectiveness.

People who don’t think this is fascism “yet” aren’t seeing members of their own ethnic group get brutalized and kidnapped by masked men with guns.

Some of us already live in the future. Spoiler alert: It’s fascism.

To criminalize being against racism and against fascism is wild.

The EO targeting former Trump cybersecurity official Krebs is equally chilling, since Trump claims as Krebs’ crime his denial that the 2020 election was rigged. Trump, as he does, is flipping the script: election integrity is denialism. And *now* it’s a crime.

EOs targeting 2 former Trump officials aren’t getting enough attention. In invoking treason, Trump puts death penalty on table for Miles Taylor. In revoking security clearances for Penn because Taylor taught there, he gives Penn a choice: suffer or join the punishment by banning Taylor.

😭
In a stunning reversal, Trump reverses his decision to go into reverse, leading reviewers of his reversals to revise their previous reads of his aversion to reversal.

And right after you learned from Columbia that even if you do every single goddamn inane thing he asks, even more than the list of things he asks, he's still not giving you your money back?

He's running a protection racket except he burns your house down at the end.

What's the point of an endowment, pray tell, if its not to maintain the institution that holds it? Like what the fuck are you using your money for if not to keep your doors, and the doors of academic inquiry open as an authoritarian tries to shutter them?

Via New York Times: “The DOJ prosecutor who questioned the Trump administration’s decision to deport a Maryland man to El Salvador has been placed on indefinite paid leave for a “failure to zealously advocate” for the department — less than 24 hours after defending the gov’t in federal court.”

Awful. We’re losing our country piece by piece.
The Regime continues its descent into fascism. The DOJ lawyer who was sent to defend The Regime’s illegal actions in deporting Kilmar Abrego Garcia could not do so, because “Plaintiff Abrego Garcia should not have been removed”.

That DOJ attorney was just placed on administrative leave.
