A nephrologist just going with the flow

📍Puerto Rico
Instead of using mayonaise for sandwiches, I encourage you to add a little bit of garlic, and a pinch of salt to greek yogurt. 😋 tastes yummy and its healthier

Saw this on my way out of the HD unit. Using real food labels to teach about added phosphorus? Genius. Nutrition ed matters - especially in kidney care.

A millennial icon. Thanks to the movie "Harriet the Spy" i started keeping a journal. I still have my notebooks from over 20 years ago.
Heart wrenching!

The answer to your first question is ignorance and a misguided belief that high osmolality contrast agents will pull fluid into the vascular compartment and cause volume overload and pulmonary edema.

Yes, contrast will be removed efficiently by the next dialysis treatment.

Honey, stop what you're doing, new hyponatremia research just dropped!

What's it say?

It looks like slow correction is associated with worse outcomes, like death and length of stay!

Was it just a small study?

No, it was a meta-analysis of almost 12,000 patients!

Feeling incredibly grateful that my little one, still under 1, has access to vaccines to keep her safe and healthy. We’ve been able to follow the recommended schedule, and it gives me such peace of mind. Can't wait for MMR scheduled for December!! 💉❤️ #VaccinesWork #MomLife
