The International Vasculitis Workshop is coming up! One of my favorite meetings for it's sense of community, and possibilities of forming meaningful collaborations (PEXIVAS was hatched in one of them). Call for early career scientists is here

Secondary #TMA represent a major unmet medical need.

Grateful for the opportunity to review the role of #complement and discuss when to consider complement inhibitors in these dramatic diseases.

#FSGS #Nephroticsyndrome #APOL1

just one small note on %FPE/genetics. The concept that genetic forms have ⬇️FPE is confounded. Most FSGS related to slit-diaphragm genes presenting with NS have ⬆️FPE. We see nearly total FPE with TRPC6, INF2, NPHS1, NPHS2, MYO1E et al

Phenotypic differences between AAV patients in Japan (compared to USA/EU) are obvious. In this study, we surveyed patients presenting during the early phase of the pandemic.

A striking difference in the use of glucocorticoids at 6 months has also been observed!
