Back from over 24 hours at the Capitol, fighting against the Big Ugly Bullshit bill. I watched Republicans cheer as they cut off 3 mil from food assistance & nearly 14 mil from life-saving healthcare. Adding TRILLIONS to the deficit, all for billionaires. This is a betrayal, but we aren't giving up.

Pretty sure we could do this with other big corporations, too.
When the Target boycott began earlier this year, one key rationale was to make sure that the effect could be measured. Target’s sales being down over 3.5% is evidence that organized response works. This is a huge effect on a retailer.

Something needs to be clarified: BOYCOTTS DO NOT HAVE END DATES.

The boycott against Target is working because it does not have an end date, these large corporations can take a 6 day hit.

There must be a demand and a consequence.

We cannot not allow people to co-opt terms.

if dems want messaging help, stop telling people you're "fighting back." it sounds like you're being mugged. call off the podcaster search, take your ridiculous money pile and try opening some food banks and free clinics. hurricanes are coming and the feds have no plan. looks like an opening to me.

I just overheard my postal carrier throwing a huge hissy fit at the mailbox because a package wouldn’t fit and she had to bring it to my door.

I think I’m going to start ordering concrete blocks delivered to my house regularly. Too big for the box AND heavy.

Absolutely delighted over here. TEN years ago we planted this tree, and we finally have our first jabotica! Two, even. With more coming. (See the blossom up above the fruit?) 🌱🌳

Hawai'i Rep Ed Case (D) voted for the Save Act. His office cannot offer any advice on how married women who took their husband's surname can continue to vote. Maybe you'd like to ask as well? I'm freaking LIVID.

These are bunkers in Minadoka, Idaho, where we imprisoned Americans for being of Japanese descent. It was a human rights crime. I was here in February. It's a real place.

I wrote this book before tariffs were looming, before people started planting their 1st gardens in an attempt to lower grocery costs. Five years in the making; it could not possibly be more relevant. 👀

It’s out now, and it’s your guide to stocking a pantry from scratch.

Cory Booker's long talk was fantastic, but the fact that he referenced Schoolhouse Rock more than once just warms my little Gen X heart.

Not getting much attention, but the Senate GOP is about to start voting - to make sure banks can charge higher overdraft fees. Seriously.

Good time to let your Senators know what you think of that.

In my continuing efforts to Grow More Food™ I'm planting radishes and beets in the greenhouse beds, mulching different beds, and having a capital T talk with my seedlings that are kind of failing to thrive. 🌱

With all the talk about being prepared for anything, a suggestion: go camping. Not RVing.

#Camping is a great introduction to making do. Washing dishes without running hot water. No power. Cooking with limited ingredients. Rustic cookware and a basic “kitchen.” Little to no internet connection.
