Earlier this year, Dr. Jane Goodall sat down for an interview for Brad Falchuk’s new Netflix series, Famous Last Words.

The premise of the series is to interview people on the condition that the interview not air until the subject has passed away.

When you're at a crossroad and don't know which way to go what do you do? Me? I run in circles in the middle of the intersection. You?

Fasting is Hard
Day 3 of fasting from from dinner the previous night to lunch the next day. I'm a snacker, and not snacking at night before going to bed has proven to be the hardest things I've done all week.

1. Trump threatened every hospital that provides gender affirming care to transgender youth.

Many complied and shut down their programs.

Boston Children's Hospital didn't. They fought back and kept providing care.

And now, they just beat Trump in court.

I made my first ever comic. It's small, some would even say it's tiny, but it's a monumental feat for me. All I've ever wanted was make a comic since I bought my first one in 1989. I finally did it.

I have 12 samples of dirt from various parts of my yard to send to Clemson University to hopefully figure out what I need to put in my lawn to get my centipede grass to grow better.

I've come to realize I don't like group events in loud restaurants. Probably because I can't hear anyone well enough to carry on a conversation. Also probably because I'm older and less tolerant of being around people.

Fantasy Map for Web Designers
For my day job, I illustrated this editorial illustration that represents how someone can get started with UX design. It’s posted on my portfolio website. The idea is to show the different paths someone can take to get to the same destination. I came up with the idea to draw a fantasy map. I’m pretty sure it’s because I started a re-watch of the extended editions of the Lord of the Rings trilogy the week I worked on this illustration.

I first learned of David Wiesner while watching a video about Caldecott winners Wiesner’s book, The Three Pigs, was reviewed. I was intrigued by Wiesner’s use of comic book style panels, and how the pigs “escaped” their story to the space between pages. Similar to breaking the proverbial fourth wall, but in this instance, only within the confines of other storybooks.

John Williams was 45 years old in 1977. He had already had a long, successful career in Hollywood, and was raising three kids on his own after his wife died. Then he became mega-famous. His story gives me hope for a middle-aged creator.

Well, @disneyplustr.bsky.social did it. They made a fun live-action Star Wars show for kids as much as it is for adults. #SkeletonCrew is so much fun. I love the kids’ acting, special effects, props, sets, costumes, and creatures (or do you call them aliens in the SW universe?)
