There has been a lot of chatter today about Zelenskyy's meeting with Trump, some regarding this moment when White House correspondent Brian Glenn asked if the Ukrainian president plans to wear a suit. I want to address idea in this thread. 🧵

I voted for Education.

I voted for Healthcare.

I voted for Housing.

I voted for Affordability.

I voted for the Environment.

I voted.

And you should, too.

All I needed was my driver’s license.

(I didn’t have my voter card.)

This is how we all need to be thinking. No matter our job, whatever we do. Do it to the best of our ability in a way that supports and lifts people up and does not let authoritarianism win.

Ontarians could be governed by Ford, Poilievre and Trump beside us by the end of the year.

That is fucking nightmare fuel and I would suggest not doing this if we care about our province and country, guys.

In the face of these tariffs, we need a team Ontario approach, not a power-grabbing snap election.

As we work to protect the businesses and jobs most at-risk from tariffs, we need to respond forcefully to defend Ontario, invest in local supply chains, and aggressively diversify trade partners.

As a rural resident I've been told year over year (for 20+ years) "nope our new updated range doesn't apply to you" I 100% support ripping up the contract & I 100% support finding a different way to solve the problem & I 100% don't want a crook like Ford trying to solve the problem
It seems clear that Ford had to do this, but it's worth pointing out that rural internet is a huge problem and people in small communities notoriously hate Xplornet.

Making deals with unstable, evil billionaires is bad yes, but what is the plan to improve rural internet?

Ford 'ripping up' Ontario's $100M contract with Elon Musk's Starlink in wake of U.S. tariffs | CBC News
Progressive Conservative Leader Doug Ford is ripping up Ontario's nearly $100 million contract with Elon Musk's Starlink to provide high-speed internet access to rural, remote and northern communities...

This. All of this. We need to start paying attention for longer than 10 seconds.
The DEI caused the plane crash narrative is a distraction. The tariffs are a distraction. Whatever insane nonsense Trump spews that the media will chase like cats chasing a laser light is a distraction. The only story that counts right now is the wholesale hijacking of control of the US government.

The electorate has a very short term memory and that's what FORD is relying on. He's hoping people will forget his corruption, his dismantling of healthcare, education, the greenbelt, and the Ontario place lands. He's hoping people will forget how deep he is in the pockets of developers.

It’s no surprise that tariffs are here.
Instead of making a plan for today, Doug Ford
has been focused on things like booze and bike lanes.
He’s left us vulnerable.
Calling a snap election was reckless. #cdnpoli #peipoli

"will" rip it up...it should already be done and if ANYONE votes for Ford because of his tough stance on tariffs, you have forgotten our Ford created crisis in healthcare, education, greenbelt, & hwy 413 not to mention his obvious corruption - don't be a rube! www.ctvnews.ca/toronto/arti...
Ontario to rip up $100M Starlink contract ahead of U.S. tariffs

They will say yes. Won't actually buy the stuff. And he will declare victory

It’s very interesting to me that the smartest person in the room when it comes to the economy in the Canadian Federal election is also “racking up endorsements” related to addressing the #ClimateCrisis. It reinforces the obvious truth: smart economic policy & smart climate policy are the same thing.

Please do not use the fact that you may like his response to Trump tariffs as a reason to forget every other terrible decision of his that has impacted our lives:healthcare, education, autism services, greenbelt development, car licensing, un-needed hwy 413, ignoring need for expanded public transit
Dear Ontario voters.
Please don't vote for Doug Ford.

She shared this with me privately shortly after the tour, and I'm grateful she made her thoughts public.

Before mass blocking, check out some of the profiles. Don't be sheep. Having said that, many of the early ones I checked out...I blocked at least 4/5ths of the people on them.
I've seen many people added to blocklists that should not in any capacity be on those lists. There are people creating lists that are not what they purport to be and they are trying to disrupt the platform by getting good people blocked. Know the list owner, trust them, before subscribing.
