She/her
I have a lot to be grateful for and I have more good in my life overall than bad. Still feels weird to accept tzedaka from my teenaged sibling.

Once I finish nursing school I'm buying a duplex because I believe that intergenerational living is coming back

Does anyone know how to apply for all the things in NY state? By all the things I mean public assistance.

I'm forcing musband to translate these for me
34. Hubert :

As one of the "childless transplanted degree holders living off public or family subsidies" (although we don't live in NYC), this is hurtful and offensive to me.

If I wanted to be childless and dependent forever, wouldn't I be invested in maintaining the status quo?
Here is the editor of Tablet agreeably reposting someone calling nonwhite NYC immigrants "worthless biotrash." It's astonishing how quickly this stuff has escaped containment

Does anyone have a PDF of Anatomy of a Ban by Rabbi Noson Kamenetsky?

Introduce yourself with what almost killed you:

Hi, I'm an 18 wheeler on the I-635 and my 2025 job search
Introduce yourself with what almost killed you:

Hi, I'm a pond in Utah and me driving in a rainstorm up Wolf Creek Pass
Introduce yourself with what almost killed you:

Hi, I'm a bad driver, a rattlesnake, carbon monoxide, and cancer.

I'm tired of being an emotional/financial support black hole that needs attention and coddling and commiseration.

When I think about it, there actually are areas where I give in some way. I still feel fundamentally self-involved and self-centered.

“All my haters become my waiters when I sit down at the table of success” is honestly up there with “the only thing we have to fear is fear itself” and “ask not what your country can do for you”

I hate the Great Lake winds and the lake effect snow and digging out the car and the gloomy winter but otherwise I quite like it here.

It's still hard to believe that less than six months ago, we were waffling in Dallas. Then we decided on a course of action and were on the road 2.5 months later.

I am begging everyone on here to read this new post by Bryan Johnson — the super rich tech guy who is now doing the “never die” protocol.

I need to talk about it with you all.

I haven't been up to anything interesting except reading a lot of cookbooks, baking, frying, and fermenting.

Turns out this is not the case where I live after all and I can toivel things as late as I want.
So annoying when you live OOT and there's only one keilim mikvah and it's attached to the women's mikvah building so you can't use it at night out of respect for privacy

I immediately started playing a stupid mobile game again so nothing happened.

It is nice not having to see every stupid thing that distracts me from my personal goals.

My take on the housing crisis is that my neighborhood is entirely duplexes with some townhouses & apartment buildings and we're right off major roads & the highway & a huge park with bodies of water & the property of disguising the fact that you are in the city instead of a forest.

It's nice!

Beginning Monday, a Frozen Peppermint Hot Chocolate drink will be available exclusively at Starbucks cafés inside Target stores.

The chains are hoping the drink can drum up excitement from customers this holiday season.
