I really like the politics of Chi Osse (socialist YIMBYism, pro transit, parks, schools...), I like the boldness, but oh MAN that is a hard race he signed himself up for and he *cant* rely on any endorsements here, Dems who endorse him essentially risk being expelled from the party

going to reiterate a long time take of mine which is that grades and essays are far worse for disadvantaged groups than the SAT. A student in poorly funded school is generally going to have a worse essay and transcript than someone with a private tutor, meanwhile there are SAT guides on youtube
grades are an extremely messy signal and you do in fact need some kind of universal baseline.

I don’t know why I’m so obsessed with moving up in organizations and join community boards, meeting with legislators, the chances are I’m never going to be able to see this city after I graduate. What’s the point of it all?
I’m genuinely getting depressed that I’m probably not going to be able to stay in Tucson unless I go to grad school and even then getting a job in this city is not a guarantee. It sucks that I’m one of two people trying keep an org going and that I’m well connected in the city

so just looking at this map of airport cuts (10% flight reductions at each by Nov. 14):
- Atlanta, Chicago, Louisville, Cincinatti is nuts thats the busiest airport in the world, and the big passanger and cargo hubs
- Denver, both Dallas airports, Phoenix, and LAX. That might kill Southwest

I don’t know how we’ve gotten to the point where men in full balaclavas can abduct daycare teachers while they’re watching children.
