My friend moved back to my area the middle of last year. We've been trying to get together once a week since we CAN spend time together without it being a trip. Sometimes finding a day is a little complicated because we both have fairly active lives.

We still have power. There was snow last night. More is predicted later today.

View from my back stoop with raised beds, flower pots, a red Buddha near the house There is a shed with an open door in the back right, mid frame. The rail of the stoop is at the bottom of the shot, leafless trees in back. My neighbor's house behind the trees on the left. A small sculpture in the middle of the yard. Light snow everything. Grass poking through it in the yard. There is smoother whiteness in the flower bed between the house and the raised beds.

The beds have primitive paintings of a tree and sky. One has dark blue sky with a full moon. The other has light blue sky and clouds. There's a green net hanging out of the right side of that one. The water garden is the farthest to the right. The sky that's visible on that one is black. Flower pots and the little red Buddha in front of it hide the rest of the paint.

They were eventually allowed one phone call as a thanks for saving the agent’s life.

They used it to call their lawyer, who called their state representative, who ultimately got them released on the condition they tell people they were “treated kindly.”
