My monarda has just about punked out. But, it has wonderful pink Fall foliage. My husband thought there was something blooming there in October.

I don't think they care. I think they believe they look ordinary enough that people won't notice them later. And they're packing away to coin as hard and fast as they can WHILE they can. They believe they're be able to fade into the shrubbery when it's over.

I used to drive a history teacher crazy because I would always ask how a king died. She thought I was being morbid. I said that how a leader dies matters, whether it's natural causes in their own bed or exertion in someone else's or assasination.
