leaving a book club feeling buoyed up by good chat and then immediately being swallowed alive by the shame gremlin that says you talked way too much and had too many opinions and you were an asshole and everyone hated you….. cool cool

Operations, data and process management aren’t drudge work! If you think that then you are a naif who has no idea how your business operates! Stop devaluing the hard work of the people who actually make shit run!
Sorry to the person that wrote this but if you think 'rights, metadata and workflows' are 'drudge work' and that they don't matter, wait and see what happens when you leave them to AI and they stop working correctly.

It is 6am and I am at Salzburg train station. I am going to attempt to get home to Edinburgh tonight, trains all the way. Wish me luck, I guess?

I considered writing a long carefully constructed argument laying out the harms and limitations of AI, but instead I wrote about being a hater. Only humans can be haters.
I Am An AI Hater
I am an AI hater. This is considered rude, but I do not care, because I am a hater.

is there anything more sinister than the greatest athlete of our generation getting up on a billboard and saying “I had kids and my body is just simply too fat to be allowed, you too probably”*

*p.s. my husband got me to do this so he could make yet another fortune

any trade unions interested in building a health and safety case around the fact we shouldn’t be forced to use AI in the workplace because of its potential negative impacts on cognitive function and its documented ability to fuel spiritual psychosis?

am reminded of the Death of Stalin where farcical pandering and desperate horrors blend into one
So the government's line is now that Palestine solidarity is both Hamas and the IRA?
@alexdaviesjones.bsky.social : "We don't support terrorists in the UK. Would you be asking me that if this was about the IRA?"

Madeley: "... the IRA planted bombs... Palestine Action isn't quite in the same league"

"... we do not support terrorists in this country" #GMB

these AI companion stories are wild - it’s like, people are in their own individual cult, and there isn’t even a need for a charismatic leader to slowly indoctrinate and seduce, it’s just a warped mirror so people are indoctrinating themselves. how would you even deprogram someone from that.

The Labour MPs featured in this story, about a project celebrating the centenary of suffrage campaigners who used serious disruption and criminal damage to demand change, later removed their sashes to go and vote to ban Palestine Action for similar direct action tactics www.bbc.com/news/article...
Welsh group makes 264 sashes for female MPs to mark women's vote
Each MP received a sash to mark 97 years of women being given the right to vote.

endless sneering thinkpieces about how young people would be rich if they just went without coffee and avocados but suggest that millionaires could forego the price of a Hermes handbag a year and suddenly it’s gnashing of teeth, rending of garments, wailing women, the enemy is at the gates 🙄

the dog is quite happy zooming around the garden and accepting my offerings of chicken stuffed with antibiotics, whilst i stumbled around stress crying with a camera roll full of pictures of her bottom and the vet on speed dial. i posit i am more in need of medical intervention than she.
